Business Meeting Minutes 1/18/15

Opening prayer by Rev. Bill @8:30 PM.

Minutes of previous meeting read by Rev. Karen.  Motion to accept minutes as read made by Tim; seconded by Mel.  Passed.

Treasurer’s Report:

Checking – 5070.98

Savings – 7213.90

Sent check to SW Indian Foundation for 1.5 stoves.

Committee Reports:

Tech – Katie is uploading videos on our FB page.  On the day of service, Katie will post video of the person doing the meditation.  What should we post mid-week?  We are clearly reaching a younger demographic, based on recent attendance.

There will be no computer upgrade at this time.

Events – let’s set a date for All-Message Service now.  11/7 decided on.  Also made some date changes; the maypole ceremony was moved to 4/26, and the May business meeting was moved to 5/17.  New member orientation will be 3/15.

Old Business:

Shall we kill the SW Indian Foundation can and do one last basket, or keep out all year?  Rev. Bill moves that as of Spring equinox we will leave the can out all year, only displaying the laminate card during the holiday season.  We will evaluate on a regular basis the best use of the funds (stoves or baskets).  Seconded by Jae; passed.  Katie and Jon Schultz donated directly for a stove each.

Heather Key says there are no men’s domestic abuse shelters, so we can’t do a food donation with balanced energy that way.  Perhaps to an in-house drug rehab facility?  We will still spend $100 this month; Heather will purchase items and donate to a group she is familiar with:  Friends in Serving Him.

Taxes – Jae and Rev. Bill are meeting with the church accountant to see what changes affect us.

New Business:

It’s time to replace the metal folding chairs; several have broken.  Perhaps buy ones with pads included?

Items from the Floor:

Mel needed meditations and titles for April and May.

It’s tax letter time; Jae needs to know who donated what (if total donations were over $250).

Motion to adjourn made by Mel; seconded by Tim.  Closing prayer by Rev. Bill @9:24 PM.
